Ive come back around again,
Another full almost full circle.
I was here last year,
I can see the footprints I made
Right next to me.
I thought that maybe,
Just maybe
Id manage to find the right path.
Maybe next time.
I first stumbled here by accident.
Three years ago now,
Nearing four.
Thats three circuits Ive made,
Like a caged animal,
Walking the edge of its world out of boredom.
Each time I tried a different path,
They all veered away,
But I still returned to this loop.
I travelled further last time,
I could see the edge of the woods,
But I took the wrong turning;
Left instead of right.
I dont like this path,
Its gotten harder to walk
Now that its been used before.
My feet are also slowing,
Mud picked up from each lap
Is stuck to them,
Dragging me back.
Leading me to somewhere I already know.
