HeartSong

Contributed by d23jz on Monday, 19th July 2004 @ 07:26:28 PM in AEST
Topic: DreamsandWishes

What song does a heart sing
when love is lost and it must cling to hope and faith
of what the next day will bring
A thing is a thing it seems yet unlike that of ones dreams
a mystical relality at the end of a puppets strings
With open arms and closed eyes
hoping to catch a fallen angel from the skies but away she flies
My heart can no longer sing listening to her beating wings
It merely humms a feeble sound from in my chest it did pound
Now froze laying on the ground
Arms open and eyes close in the most sweet reprose
The light rushes away and I can see their eyes staring at me
scorning and taughting my blaspheme
The heart achingly beats slower as it dies
unable to claim its rightful prize
Arms open eyes close towards the skies

This is intense and deep.
That's what I liked about it.
I loved the first line- the way the poem begins
What song does a heart sing...
