I rip away the skin that hides my face I pull away th flesh that has replaced everything I used to be everything you made me see I've tried to be like you I've tried to become someone new but I want to my self not some screw up I dont want to sit on a shelf hiding in all of your make-up I want to live I want to give you may not think so but I''m too slow to move on from this pain and you''re keeping me here in your ungrateful chains and I cant get away so i keep sitting here on this shelf sufforing from all of my pain.

I can almost hear your screams for escape....and I feel your need to be wanted and loved for who you are. 15 minutes created a hurt/heart-filled poem that calls for attention. Good job, and I hope things get better. Keep writing.-Olivia |

the poems I that wake me up in the middle of the night and DEMAND to be written are usually scribbled in the dark on whatever surface I can find, and barely legible in the morning, but they're the best. they're the ache, the hunger, the fear and the elation we feel, all at their strongest, just pouring out. I really like this poem, because I FEEL it. when you don't think, and you just write, you're feeling through words, and those are the most touching poems, and the ones I enjoy the most.
I truly enjoyed this one! thanks for sharing it! |
