Waiting

Waiting

Ive done everything imaginable
To try and get you back
My personality is still the same
But my appearance is not
Ive thought of everything to make you come back to me
Nothing has worked, youre still not here

I said what I had to say
I finally told you I loved you
And now I sit here writing through watery, blurred eyes
Realizing that it probably made no difference

That wont bring you back to me
That wont keep the hurt away
Wont keep the tears from falling
That wont make you love me

All I want to do is make you happy
But it seems as though Im not what you want or need

But overtime, maybe then you will see
How devoted I was to you
How you had my whole heart dedicated to you and only you

You will never know how much my heart has been through
You wont know how much Ive cried
You will never understand how impossible it was for me to forget you and move on

All you will know is that I love you with everything I have
All you will know is what we went through together
All that is left are the memories
And even those are painful for me to remember

I think back to how happy we were
How things were so perfect
Then you left, left me alone
Heartbroken in tears

So now Im all by myself
I dont want to be alone anymore
I want you with me
But that wont happen

I call your phone just to hear your voice
But Im too scared and hang up before you even answer
I dont have the time or money to go see you
So Im stuck here alone
Tears soaking my pillow every night

Waiting for someone to come along
And take all this hurt away
To make everything okay again
To make me forget all about you

But no one has come to rescue me
So here I am, stuck here waiting
Waiting for my heart to be mended back together
Waiting for something to happen , or someone to come alone

Here I will sit, waiting!

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
