sweet is the melody of you
that flows through my ears like a gentle wind
playing the familiar songs I hear every day
playing them gently at pianissimo
sweet is the melody of you
that echoes in my mind with a thousand vibrations
gracefully crescendoing to fortissimo
without a single rest
sweet is the melody of you
that plays forever like an orchestral masterpiece
with a dramatic, passionate overture that suddenly builds to a climax
with a fermata that holds forever
sweet is the melody of you
that modulates through all the keys
singing harmonies that are eternally peaceful
giving even the minor keys a cheerful aura
sweet is the melody of you
that never loses its rhythm
sometimes a gigue, or a swing, or a waltz
a cadence of rhythmic phrases, each so passionate
sweet is the melody of you
that turns into a duet as moonlight becomes it
the blending of two voices a colorful counterpoint
that plays on our heartstrings, and enchants our souls
sweet is the melody of you
that provides a little night music
as we dance on a majestic grand staff
and our alto and bass melodies intertwine
sweet is the melody of you
that magically sparkles and shines forever
you are my favorite work of musical art
you're my favorite song
