Me To Blame

Topic: ApologyPoetry

We are at the finishing line but it seems like you havent left the start.
You trusted me and opened up your heart.
I took it and not knowing any better,
Twisted and broke it and left it all bitter.
You may never believe in no woman again,
And celibacy will be a life you would want to maintain.
And you only have me to blame.

All I would like to say is, I am sorry,
Although, thats not enough, thats why I worry.
If we should not be friends then I would not be able to live,
And breathing would no longer be a gift.
And if that should happen, I only have myself to blame.

I apologize with my heart filled with love and shame.
I am to blame.

What a great first submission! This is full of emotion and obviously heartfelt. I'm happy to hear that the friendship survived. It can be so difficult to get past the hurt - many people just give up and move on.

And... Welcome to YPDC! I do hope you settle in and stay a while. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work -
