Inside Looking Out

selfstruggles

It is a wonderful life I know, I have it all To the top I have risen Tomorrow I will fall
From the outside looking in You see me up so high Placed upon a pedestal So many reasons left to fly
Looking in through that window Everything you have ever wanted Be careful what you wish for I am left feeling haunted
Peering back at you Through my window tinted black I show you all I have And beg you, "Take it back!"
For I know of all I hold For it, I am grateful But to feel nothing in spite of these things For that, I am hateful
I am overflowing (with emptiness) Despite life, love and prosperity There is an emptiness inside That leaves me seeking clarity
