night time

Contributed by kammie on Monday, 26th July 2004 @ 12:59:04 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

as the moon stares down
and only can see perfectness
and smiles contentedly to himself
he cannot see the misery
lying in the dark shadows
as darkness begins to creep
in to my home
my candles flicker
my circle of protection broken
by your foot
in my room
on my bed
what happened the night before?
i begin to remember
the weeping
the blood
my own wasnt shod
but yours everywhere
no weapons near me
but crosses lying on me
around me
as if to protect me from this night
a wind blows
and he moves
closer, closer, here
he weeps
i do too
he raises the blade
of the razor end
and begins to slash
but tonight
dont feel right
i reach for the blade
and begin to cut myself
tears roll down his cheeks
but he cant stop me
he is of the otherworld
i get nearer
nearer, nearer
i can almost feel his touch
and for a second i kiss away his tears
but daybreak comes
he is pulled away
my cuts gone
my skin new, refreshed
my heart pounding
my hair about my head
a halo of curls
and i begin to start the day
and dread what tonight may bring ............
