I thought that I'd save You from pain
After I turned my back on You for a short while
I purposely hurt myself and did things I knew were vile
Forgetting You never shut Your eyes
I followed the world and its lies
I thought I'd save You from pain
I didn't realize it doesn't work that way
Now I know You never shut Your eyes
Now I know You hear all my cries
but why do I ignore it so?
Who cares? It's time to let go
(help me)
Let go of these secret lies
-hidden behind my eyes
(help me)
Let go of these doubts
-tell me what my life's about
(help me)
Let go of these false reflections
-make the corrections
(help me)
I need You in my life
I only cared about myself
Not anyone else
Didn't care about reprocussions
As long as they weren't shot back at me
All this time Your eyes did see
Every stupid thing I did
As I tried to show the world I wasn't a kid
but now I know You never shut Your eyes
I know now You hear all my cries
but why, do I ignore it so?
You care, so it's time to let go
