Feeding life,
My hand was bitten.
Story ending,
halfway written.
No one here,
to stand beside me.
Brave enough,
to help or guide me.
Only windows,
At my side.
all but fire,
burns my pride.
One more breath,
would be my last.
Along with smoke,
I breathe the past.
Pictures,
of the life Ive led,
Family, friends,
and books Ive read.
Precious seconds,
Once were wasting.
changing now,
to tears Im tasting.
Wiping pain,
I see my boy,
Walking,
with his favorite toy.
hard to focus,
Lights are dim,
One last thing,
to say to him.
Tell him not,
to see the lies.
But hear the truth,
and close his eyes.
Inhaling breaks me from my past
I know this breath
will be my last.
