the stars, at least, will cry
another verbal hero lost in their unspoken war
pretty yes, but not too brave
she left after all, while we all stayed
eyes open show them blind
eyes closed shows them worse; unkind
i can't play mommy to a world that's not mine
too many lives wasted upon the sublime
at least i have the stars to cry for me
acidic tears post my deep sleep
everyone else will wake up
rise or fall or whatever they like
i'll wait ever so patiently, thanks
when they're all gone i'll come up
wander with those left behind
a danger to powers untold so left to suffer
but not anymore
not with each other
