Through the struggles of the day Through the tears and the pain Through the self doubt and self hate My only consolation is your love
When the worlds too hard to face When there is no comfortable place When life is nothing but a race My only consolation is your love
Through all of this lifes stress Through all the hopelessness Through the times when Im a mess My only consolation is your love
When there seems to be no cure When of nothing I can be sure When I can no longer endure My only consolation is your love
You might never know But you saved me When I was at the point of no return Please just tell me what it would take For you to let me show you how I feel Cause when I couldnt find peace Not even from the heavens above My only consolation was your love

some of your rhymes almost were on the brink of being forced. the repetition seemed to work for the poem. i dont really like how the ending stanza broke from the format, makes the rest of the poem seem formatted for no reason. i think its great that love now has something else to rhyme with, but all the other words just hang there unrhymed. you used a lot of anaphora repetition for formats as well, and that also went out the window. the anaphora actually worked for this poem because i didnt even notice it was repeated so often. |
