When simple words are hard to find

Contributed by Tanmaya on Thursday, 29th July 2004 @ 04:22:08 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

Simple words are hard to find,
and even harder to speak.
I have gone around in circles
just trying to tell you what I mean.

Sometimes I try to speak my heart out,
and then wonder what you exactly heard,
how do I know what you know, its so confusing.
But, love is such a simple word.

So, come take my hand and smile into my eyes,
lets take a long, long walk into a dream.
I know the sound of your steps will fall in place,
with the rhythm of my heartbeat.

Well laugh together on the roads of tomorrow,
leaving a golden trail of memories behind.
Come, take my hand and smile into my eyes,
whenever simple words are hard to find.

Simple, but wrought with delicate emotion.

Your image of a golden trail was just what this poem needed to make it work, although It doesn't dominate the piece, upon re-reading.

Very well done.

Beautiful! I love the concept of no words being needed, of spirits who understand each other so well. That to me is a very deep expression of love.
Excellent piece.

I love this one. Well, I loved the other ones as well, but this one is special. Sometimes words, no matter ow complicated, or how simple, cannot express the desire, the passion burning in your heart.
Come, take my hand and smile into my eyes,
whenever simple words are hard to find
Beautiful.
Take care. May love hold you tight.
David
