Its five in the morning and I havent slept at all
Ive been laying here awake just to tell you
That Ive waited for too long
If only I could close my eyes
Before the world opened theirs
I lie here and realize that you were never there
Im far away in distance
Still not far enough from you
I lie awake and wonder
What im wondering about
I sit up and then I find myself
Standing.
I think im dreamingWhat of?
I dont know what about
If only I could close my eyes
Before the world opened theirs
I lie here and realize
that you were never mine
And in time
I know Ill slowly let go
And in time
Its only me that I have to show
That I let you go
Im awake at night
into the depths of dawn
Thinking of whoever it would be
At that moment in time
If only you would open your eyes
And look into mine
Then I wouldnt have to close my eyes
Before the world opened theirs
Nor sleep while im awake
Knowing youll always be there
I will cry for all the right reasons
I will never feel wronged
Hey babeI cant sleep
Then when I told you I would
I was gone
If only I could close my eyes
Before the rest of the world opened theirs
Then I wouldnt have to imagine
What youre doing with her.

Beautiful, beautiful write. Elegantly composed. And let me just say your being too kind with your words to "him". I've felt the same way about a certain guy, and it hurts all the same. please do keep posting.

Awwww I am sorry that you feel like this, i used to have trouble sleeping , but I have vastly improved... this is such a sad write... straight from your heart.

Beautiful Write, thank you for sharing.
If when you do close those eyes to sleep and dream, you'll realize.....that somewhere out there in the mist of dawn......someone sees the dream you're on...and yearns to look into your eyes, into that beautiful soul that is you. |
