Repertoire of Immoralities

Contributed by funkdoob on Thursday, 29th July 2004 @ 08:38:05 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Rock seat
Hold me in this
Desolate
Yet comforting
Damp arena of
Woods
I can see just down
The muddy hill
Ripped up
From the mindless
Self-indulged
Construction
I can hear the birds
Cries
I stop for
Lunch and a
Quick view
Instead I get a
Movie
A movie of
Deception
And
Sadistic actions
I write in my
Notebook
Write my thoughts
He is the only one
Willing to listen
I sit there for years
I grow old
My withered skin
Holds my pencil and
My furrowed lips grasp
My cigarette
My faith slowly
Dissipating as I watch
The experienced trees
Fall
As I watch what once was
The essence of
Humanity
Fall from the skies
Into a world of non-existence
I wish I hadnt seen
What I saw those years
I wish I hadnt sat there for
So long
But I had to
I had to see the truth
I couldnt
Hide any longer behind
My shadows of counterfeits
I couldnt pass with a
Fake smile any more
I had to see it
For what it really was

One day the frogs
Stopped croaking
The birds
Stopped chirping
My cigarette
Stopped burning
I
Stopped hoping

The utopia we were
Taught as children
Eroded and
Became a past memory
Of the lucky ones
And the lucky ones became
Past memories of
All that has come
