I Could Never

I could never kill the demons
you keep locked deep inside
Anytime I turned to you
you'd run away and hide
And you think all your battles
are fought all alone
Why can't you realize
I am here- I'll take you home
I could never find your secrets
that seemed to gnaw at your soul
Anytime I came close
you'd never allow me to console
And the tears you cried
I could never wipe away
You'd turn away, with a smile
and say it's just another day
I could never turn away
from who and what you are
You may never let me in
but I'll never be that far
And if one day should you decide
to finally give life another chance
I will be by your side to comfort and love
under ANY circumstance
