Faces

Contributed by Delusions_of_Grandeu on Tuesday, 29th October 2002 @ 08:20:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

I have two faces
one I had kept hidden from view
now they bleed into one
a ravaging corruption
and soon I'll be made anew

You look into my eyes,
no soul do you see,
I look into yours,
far past your mind,
and I can see what once was me.

We all begin with an innocence
that slowly yet surely fades away
and now these passing days
only find me getting in the way

Though I help when I am needed,
I'm not truly there,
that other side of me is present,
you can feel it in the air.

You can feel the thickening darkness
even when I'm trying to be,
that happy-go-lucky teenager
that is so expected of me.

One face on the outside
the other kept within
which one is more present?
which personality will win?

You know, this really hits home, because you were me. It takes alot, but things will only get better. The only possible way it can get worse is if you suiside. And it's not worth it. I realized that as I got rushed to the hospital.

It's a really good write. I like it.
