My Birthday

Contributed by Lilkrazybaby6 on Monday, 2nd August 2004 @ 06:24:54 PM in AEST
Topic: BirthdayPoems

It's birthday time again
another fight will start up again
all because my dads here
you know what that means, another time to shed a tear.
My birthday comes and sure enough you show
bring on the dough,
"oh heres some money,whats new?"
you ask me because you haven't a clue.
well lets see...
I'm a year older
more bolder
I grew a litle bit
a long time ago I got my first zit.
Now my turn lets see...
where have you been lately?
How come you haven't came around lately?
dad your never here.
last time I seen you was last year.
Are these questions begnning to be a bore?
just wait just one more thing, dad i have something to tell you....
DAD I DON'T NEED YOU ANYMORE!!!

I read this poem expecting it to be happy and instead, I almost found myself crying! This is good writing though, if it is indeed your birthday, I wish you a happy one. It hurts to see other families torn apart as well but be strong and try your best to handle it. I'm sure your father loves you, maybe he just has a hard time showing it. Best of luck
Katie

I know what it's like to grow up with a father you don't like, but we have to forgive and let hurtful memories go and love and keep on loving, and one day, he will come to realixze his mistakes and then his love will come through for you.
