THE ELEPHANT AND THE DONKEY The elephant is a slow moving animal with a tough skin, It's voice, a sound of fear, chagrin, It walks the jungle without fear And chews it's cud from year to year. For relief from the sun, it takes a stroll Down to the water's edge, and lo, Without a doubt, it walks right in, And cools itself, and takes a spin, And exiting the water it sounds afar, Here I Come, A Shining Star. The donkey's life is humble though, And with it's strength will beat the foe, For determination is the key To win a goal successfully. The proverb of this poem: twill pay To be like the donkey, come what may.
