he sleep so long
thousands of years at a time
only when the kingdom is doomed
will he wake.
this wise and beautiful dragon
of colors that change with his mood
it sleeps still
for no one will wake it
scared that he may think it rude.
so still he lays
but every so often
he streches and when he does
the ground shacks as if
the earth was connected to him in some way.
and then it yawns
people thousands of miles away
hit the ground
and cover their ears
in fear of the horrible sound.
but he sleeps on
until his kingdom is doomed
then, and only then
well he wake
and save the home that he loves so true.
