Success or failure I don't care..

Contributed by venkat on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 05:26:47 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Success or failure I dont care,
Heart break or humiliation I dont have,
Whether Im famous or unknown it doesnt matter,
Whether I am powerful or nobody Im least bothered
As a man of awareness these dualities I will never care.
To me the awareness of heavens is the greatest treasure.
Neither I want to rule the land nor I enslave your mind
Those who pursued the power suffered even in success
As they lived in eternal fear of losing fortune they held
Earlier they suffered because they were not successful;
Later they suffered because of a feeling of insecurity
Others engaged in the task of "overthrowing" them
The life of a successful man is not a life of peace.
But in failure, too, there is no peace to any one
For the person of awareness it is all the same.
Success comes and goes and so does failure.
Hence Im not touched by failure or despair.
Honor or humiliation I am not worried of.
My duty is to do what I am supposed to do.
I had no clothing before I came into this world.
The 'clothing' that God gave me to live in this world
Ill put it back without a stain when I leave this place.
Neither a dark night nor a bright day disturb my peace
No action holds me tight as I desire no fruit to enjoy
No matter what kind of action, I shall do it as my duty
As an enlightened I find freedom in good fortune or bad
As Ive not been bound by the attachements of the world.

The standards of this world are merely intended to confuse, simplifying what is too complex for words to express, unable to contain what is true. What matters needs no space, what is thought and felt needs no time; all in this illusion is measurable and thinkable - it has little to do with the truth. The detaching you write about feels familiar. Thank you for creating and sharing.

Yes yes yes - You write such beautiful words of truth, and wisdom that is only borne from enlightenment. Faith is a marvelous thing, a treasure in itself.

Wonderful thoughts.

I agree with Ilhar. Material possessions don't make a person. Thoughts and actions do. (And yet, here I am, on my possession, addicted to YPDC!! But if I didn't have this computer, I never would be able to read such great and enlightening words!!) Other than my computer, I am poor in material things, but rich with family! Excellent write, my friend, as always. :o)

What a wonderful thing, to be unaffected by human traits ... if only I could reach this plateau??? can anyone truly though unless they are blessed???... your words, as always, venkat, remind me to look at life through a completely different perspective than what I used to ... and I thank you for that immensely ... This wonderful composition states more elaborately the wisdom of twoi great religions.

The finding of the Prizeless Pearl for whom all is sold as trivia to find it. and have it.
The wisdom of two different faiths match and embrace each other.
Thank you Venkat Sir for sharing this tremendous insight with us.

Love and peace
Elizabeth
