I Remember A Time

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 08:06:25 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I Remember A Time
------------------
I remember a time of prosperity
When the land gave such wealth
Farmers crops were of abundance
For the dirt was of good health

An honest days work
Brought an honest days pay
Working the fields until sundown
At the end of the day

When work came before fun
And responsibilities were completed
When dinner came after
The garden had been weeded

A simpler time
When families ate together
And a Sunday off from church
Was because of bad weather

Somehow through the years
These values eroded
But I remember a time
When they were well noted

yes, it seems so many of us do remember and long for those times, so where did they go?

Nice job.
