A Little Of My Time

Contributed by Jeff_Scott_Morehead on Thursday, 5th August 2004 @ 08:08:58 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

A Little Of My Time
--------------------
At a quarter of midnight
You come to me
Ready for love
Ready to see

But the action I gave
Was not tonight
Im tired and weary
And Im not feeling right

So I sent you away
Thinking only of myself
Not realizing
My incredible wealth

Having a loving woman
Who just wanted me
How could I be?
Too blind to see

That it takes two
Too make a relationship strong
And how I acted that night
Was completely wrong.

Ive played it back
Many times in my mind
That all you wanted
Was a little of my time

There is nothing more easy
In this world to give
Then a piece of me
In the life that you live

Yet I failed again
Now I understand
That love needs continual work
In the bonding of hands.
