Between Songs

Hands bleeding on my pillows, changing red to black to sepia, like old photographs drawn to the flame sulfur and plastic melding in the intense green fire. Mother's voice is calling to me from the land we know. Cigaretter smoke on our skinsm on our hair, in our kiss. Matted white powder with perfect butterfly bow lips. Infused glass, and pages falling apart in the air.
Reality is intruding like a garbled television. Metal and fur is intwined in my spine, nails anchor me to my chair. Mint covering the hidden flavor of stars, I awaken from this daydream. This place that only exists between songs.

For most part, the poem's too dark for my liking.
I liked the last lines though -
'Mint covering the hidden flavor of stars, I awaken from this daydream.
This place that only exists between songs.'

I can feel your pain, through your words! Hope things are looking up, every day is a new day! |
