Questions before i go to heaven
So where is he,
When things are not the way they should be,
Wonder if he can see,
All the pain and misery.
When the times are hard,
I look up to the stars,
Wondering why things are,
God i hope you know that i am scarred...
It is hard to not live the life of sin,
And all though i have been trying since i was ten,
To make mends for those that are not friends,
Sometimes the demons inside me start to win.
But i am trying to figure things out,
Inside i am about to scream out loud,
Ever wonder why we can pray in school?
Because this great goverment of ours can be cruel.
What is messed up is the way we try to survive,
And the fact people in other countries have to hide,
Just so they can keep themselives alive,
Now ask yourself is that right?...
Why is it everytime i hear about someone commiting suicide,
That i keep asking myself why?
Why do all these people have to die?,
Just because they want the easy way out of life?
So god i know your listening to me,
Why do these things have to be?
And before i lay my head down to go to sleep,
I can only imagine that day that we will meet.
And for those that have passed on before me,
I hope you are all looking down on me and can see,
That i am becoming a man and not to have any worries,
I'll be down here for now to always keep the peace.
Even though they are gone,
I know it won't be for long,
Before i meet up with them again,
Until that day.. i will be looking forward to going to heaven.

Well, I'm not much of a believer sometimes but your poem has really moved me. I agree, you should be VERY proud of this poem. Excellent job!

I'm not a strong believer, but i know there is a higher power out there somewhere. but this is a good poem. i loved it! i'm touched. keep writing :)
