Come Home Soon

I hope this letter gets to you
I hope what Im hearing isnt true
That there is a lot of danger where you are
I watch the news every night
What its showing is such freight
Keeps my nerves on loose ends
Here at home I think of you every day
Every morning starts the same way
Praying for your safety
Your mom and dad say they are doing fine
But you can tell they have a preoccupied mind
Worrying about their son
Though we understand why youre there
And were so grateful that you care
To put your own life at jeopardy for the safety of ours
Youre such a brave and a stand up man
But please do all you can
To take care of yourself
I gotta go, but I promise to write again
But my last thought from your best friend
Please come home soon
