As I sit here thinking and writing
words for my new poem
My thoughts are with our soldiers
who are far away from home
What are they now thinking
what they are doing, is well known
Not defending America
but doing what they are shown
Yes, trying to bring democracy
to countries who have not
But the cost of lives and money
cannot be forgot
This is not just a cause for America
the need is worldwide
We need every country out there
standing by our side
The way this war was brought about
putting our soldiers under fire
Is not the way it should have happened
nor the people of America's desire
Think About why we are so spread out
our military stretched so far
Think About what you can do
to restore America, as a star
The answer might be very simple
with the election very close by
Replace President Bush with KERRY
for a brighter worldwide, blue sky
