Missed Pain

Contributed by CrimsonTears on Tuesday, 10th August 2004 @ 11:36:47 AM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

I was doing so well
But then I tripped and fell
My path got a little rough
And I had just about enough

So I took my razor blade
Hoping it would make all the pain fade
I dragged the blade across my wrist
Oh, how that pain was missed

The pain was just so very sweet
As I watched the blood drip onto my sheet
The crimson red just fell so fast
All I wanted was for the pain to last

But the wondrous pain can only last so long
I know you may think that this is wrong
But it is the only relief that I know
Otherwise I always feel the ultimate low

Im taking my life and throwing it away
And it feels that way more with each passing day
My life doesnt really matter to me anymore
I just cant figure out what Im living for

Im throwing my life right down the drain
But its only because of all of my pain
Maybe if the pain would just go away
I could be happy for even just one day

*hugs* this poem screamed out to me, as I jhave been through this myself and I never thought I would come out the other side and survive, but I did and I know you can too,

good expressive write of how depression can make you go to any lengths to find some release from the pain,

takecare

I can not say I have been where you find yourself, nor could I make any attempt to counsel. I am drawn by the pain of your words, to wish I had answers. Powerful sentiment, and expression. I wish you peace, and pray to my God that you find it, so we may continue to be blessed with your poetry.

I'm sure you can get through it !
next to your despair mine seems worthy of shame. i have thought about cutting before to escape all the sh*t my life has to offer but always people pull me back i would miss too much. i use poetry as an outlet for emotion now rather than physical harm
your poems are an inspiration to me and i think i owe alot to your poetry i have read alot of it and it always seems to click with my emotions better than any others...
