Just Friends

Is what we have only just friends??
When Im with you I get this vibe like theres more there
We lead our separate lives
But when we are along together, a part of me comes out that Ive kept hidden
You show care and concern
You show me respect and trust
I feel like I can tell you anything and you wont judge me
Its like youve been there, done that with the same situations, you understand what Ive been through
We have the smallest things in common

The smile on your face
Your playful giggle
The way you look into my eyes
Makes me wonder.
Is what we have only just friends??

The night at the lake was special
You opened up to me, you gave me your trust, as did I
We talked about everything, saw so many things the same
Similar dreams and ambitions
Both of us striving to be the best we can

You kept your distance to show respect
But deep down I just wanted to hold your hand or to be held in your arms
As we stared into the starry night sky on the playground you saw it
A shooting star rocket across the sky

You closed you eyes to make a wish, I wanted to kiss you right then n there
But I left it to fate
See where things go

I saw a shooting star and made a wish myself
So now as I am about to lay down to sleep
I cant help but wonder
After a night like this
Is what we have only just friends??
