I fight myself so constantly
A war inside rages
Who will win? Who will take over?
I struggle against doubts and fears
That reach back, scars from many years
When will I let go?
When will I be free?
From this battle inside me
Grasping for some kind of answer
Wondering what holds me back
Locked up tears, surfacing fears
Why don't you leave me alone?
What have I done?
I've tried to do things right
So sick of being rejected
Feels like I go through a monotonous cycle
Always the same, always trouble
I want to give up
"It's hopeless!" I cry
Yet pushed from every side
Pressure closing in... I can't
Leave me alone, let me be
Life was just fine before you came
Yet you allude me all the same
Always out of reach
Doors slammed into my face
Stinging slaps, heartache
Why even bother?
Because I must...
No matter what, it won't let go
Sucking out life and energy
Frustrations pour out from me
I want to be free...
