In One Breathe

Contributed by Lia on Sunday, 15th August 2004 @ 04:08:20 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

In the time it took for a breathe to birth
I fell in love with you
In time I've had my laughter
My sorrows and my fears
And through the sands of an hour glass
The outline of you began
Your heart was formed from roses
So fragile and so pure
Connected to the falling rains
Your eyes see all that's there
Your skin an unfolding love song
For which I long to sing
You soul snuck out through clouds of white
Gold lining still in tact
Your hair a pinch of midnight
Not untouched by the breeze
And as if a gift from heaven
Your lips form a smile
It seems it took a lifetime
For my heart to find a rhythm
When all along it sang it's song
With your shadow in its chorus
How long is one lifetime?
How long is one breathe?
It's only half the distance
And you'll meet me for the rest
To finally be where I yearned to be
I took a single breathe
And as I felt the air exhale
I looked and you were there
In the time it took for a breathe to birth
I fell in love with you...
