Love is not the wish come true
when you see a shooting star
Love is not the times you have
when you hold your girl real hard
Will you still want her
when you disagree?
Will you cheat on her
when she skips your needs
Will you give up now
when your boat's in the storm
and the waves are crashing in
upon your shore
If your promises are faithful
only when times are good
then maybe you don't know
enough about love
Love is not the tears you cry
after watching a great movie
Love is not the sex you want
when your heart is feeling lonely
Love is not the child you have
from sex outside of wedlock
Love is not leaving your girl
when feelings of love do stop
Will you still love her
when she hurts your pride
or will you run away
and hide your tears inside
Will you still buy her flowers
in your weary years
just to let her know
that you really care
Sitting in rockers on the porch
Talking of how you loved so much
If your promises are faithful
only when the times are good
then maybe you don't know
enough about love

Amen to this! Very well said. So very seldom do people seem to realize that love takes determination, and selflessness. I hope they get this message.
