The Book

Contributed by Elf on Monday, 16th August 2004 @ 03:18:03 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

You rummage through the archives
to see what you can find.
A story from today,
or a tale as old as time.

Half way through the M's,
one does catch your eye.
A tale from the streets today.
A story of "how to die."

The cover is bent and broken,
the pages are ripped and stained.
The morbid words that fill it up
Speak of anger, remorse, and pain.

As you read my life,
tears fall from your eye.
This is the story of Meric;
The book on "How To Die."

Thought this was good. The pace was good, although I think the last stanza change was a bit difficult.

Interesting write with a sort of surprise ending. Nicely done. Cheers!
