I knew this day would come
I've been dreading it since we met
But I took a chance on you
Thinking maybe I was wrong
Maybe this time it would work out
What a fool I was.
I guess it had to happen
I guess you had good reason for leaving me
But it still hurt.
I loved you so much
And I thought what we had would last
But I was wrong.
I don't know if you heard me cry
But I cried so much.
It broke my heart when you said you didn't want to be with me anymore.
I felt dead inside
Like everything I was
Everything I lived for
Was dead and would never return.
It was only you that was leaving
But only you I felt so strongly for
And that made it ten times worse.
You say nothing will change
We'll still be friends
But the truth is it will change.
Everything will change.
We'll talk less and less
And before you know it we won't talk at all.
But for now I'm just happy to talk to you
I guess if that's all we've got I'll take it.
