Ask Me If I Care
August 19, 2004

I dont care if you cry a tear,
For me or for your loss.
Think of all the tears that you have caused.

I dont care if you cant sleep at night,
Thinking of me, or your mistake,
Because it still doesnt set it right.

I dont care if you say,
Youre sorry every day.
Words wont get me anywhere from feeling this way.

I dont care if your heart is broken,
And will not seem to heal.
You cannot mend from words unspoken.

I dont care if thinking about you is driving me mad,
And that I cant help but want to forgive you,
I dont care that I still want what we had.

I dont care if you think you love me still,
Or that maybe I love you too.
I dont care that I cant live without you.

So ask me if I care that youre leaving,
That Im sorry for not hearing what you had to say.
And that I dont care if youre going away.

If the truth is what you want me to say,
I dont care about the past,
I just want you to stay.
