Sink

Contributed by blueheart on Sunday, 22nd August 2004 @ 02:35:09 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

Curtains lifted and she revels in the sunrise,
Away from the hollow trails of her dreary, dreary nights,
Enthused, she confronts the very things that haunt her,
Yet as dawn leaves the skeletons draw near.

She sinks,
Into the impetuous stains,
Diamond teardrops snipped,
Though she tries and tries again.
The world can never hold her in its hands,
It caresses her with empty answers,
And she's crumpled beneath the avalanche.

She has whirlwinds on her narrow paths,
Broken fragments sweep into the maddening warp,
Specks of fading trust shatter the slabs of her mind,
Her resolutions disabled as the blemishes smile.

And she sinks,
Into the corners of the black sheet,
Another soul wasted away.

An appropriately titled work perhaps for in its shadow I too find myself sinking into the oblivion of such synergetic ironies. Sink..sink...sink... Indeed.

Very descriptive...very immersive adn powerful write! Good job!

'What are we to the world but a collection of failed dreams adn wasted souls...methinks...sigh." Words fom LAN.

I love and admire the way you are able to find beauty in sorrow and turn it into a masterpiece like this. Kudos to you. :)
