In the beginning it started so well The attraction between us, strong Everything looked to be perfect But oh, how I was so wrong
The chemistry was just lacking You made affection seem a chore But still I held on, and hoped for the best But now I can see I needed more
Those words dont mean anything now Anyone can say whats been said before I used to take it as the truth But the truth is so close and so sore
Maybe some would want what I had As they have that which I desire Maybe it was just all from exposure But the jealousy burned deep like fire
And it hurt me more than you will ever know But its too late now to put it all right Because with more I tried to offer you The more I lost the wounding fight
Then when it was finally all over A chance for me to heal arose But you denied me from any respect And delivered your final blows
Its funny how life can rip you apart Or make you smile, or break your heart It makes you hurt like never before And kicks you whilst youre on the floor But theres one thing that is for sure Life will go on forevermore And bring more minds to mercys door At the expense of those who should be so poor. I dedicate this to he whos been through it before And in his life, taken an unfair amount more

I think Dave should register here at YPDC and post more and more poems. He writes, evidently, straight from the heart. I like this poem and I like his style. Practice makes perfect. I think he should practice on us.
