Love's old photograph

She sits like a slim, rather beautiful, Buddha cross-legged, with hands resting lightly, as cups; the string at the throat of her blouse hanging loose.
Her neck is in shadow holding her chin in relief. Curls fall away from her forehead, wisps of hair framed by the pale August sky. Dark eyebrows curve, echoing cheeks that puff to her smile as she looks, in that second, forever away.
The strap of a watch curls round her wrist like a chain.
