there are thoughts i'll never tell
you say you know me
inside out
but in here
the dark place
even when i'm screaming
the screams will shut you out
i'm not allowed
to let you in
or let you know
secret me
all the ways i am
all the ways i don't want to be
there are days my skin
is pulling tight about my heart
restricting
constricting
and i can hardly beat or breathe for me
let alone
for the love of you
see you thought you knew me well
but i'm ill of mind
enough to know
there are thoughts i'll never tell
some things you should
just never know.
