Twice The Cock Crowed

Contributed by x_midnight_x on Saturday, 28th August 2004 @ 12:56:08 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Twice the cock crowed only once i ignored,
their at the door please help us lord.
Hide the children keep all hushed,
Straighten the rug the cellar hatch pushed.

Mary is crying, bairn hush to survive,
if they find us down here they'll burn us alive.
All for the herbs in the garden I've grown,
to heal the sick and dim their moan.

Now above us they shuffle and shout,
throwing our belongings all about.
For my crimes they'll judge me slow and hard,
a witches brush my lifes been tarred.

Tis down the cold river if i'm caught this night,
drown and im pure..cursed if i fight.

Ive told my kin they must not have fear,
and if they need me i'll always be here.
Gather flowers, tend sweet mary after im gone,
and sing my way a happy song.

Its like they burn the accused without a trial
You should write lyrics for song. I think you'd be really good at it. :)
