it was the sadness in his eyes
that told me i couldn't replace her.
it was the abscence in his stares
that made me think i couldn't give enough.
it was how he shyed away from the tv
when he saw her face...
and all i could do was look at him
and look back at the tv.
it was how he brought her flowers back then
that i have decided that i should stay away..
back off, never tell him my intention...
it was how he was once a friend
that i limit myself to be captivated by
a simple talk, a simple stare,
a touch of his hair...
what would the 5th of next month hold
if you keep on missing the days
and leaving me to ponder on words
we could have said to each other?
it's how i can never be proud of myself
that tells me to end this longing.
