True Love's Brilliance

Contributed by Gentledove on Monday, 30th August 2004 @ 01:59:25 AM in AEST
Topic: LovePoetry

True love is like a diamond, it's strength is unsurpassed,
When trials come along, true love, the test will pass.
True love is like a diamond, with facets of clarity,
Even when the sun doesn't shine, it sparkles brilliantly.
True love is like a diamond, it's precious and so dear,
Great value is placed upon it, so treasure it and hold it near.
True love is lke a diamond, it's free from any taint,
It can't be weakened or polluted from that which vitiates.
True love is like a diamond, it withstands the pressures of Earth,
Instead of melting or crumbling, it's durability is unearthed.

i love the ideas behind this poem and the comparison between the strength of a diamond and the strength of true love...the only thing i might change is instead of telling the reader how strong and coveted the diamond is, i might try to show the reader with some kind of imagery...i find it more interesting to imply things with images rather than state things like prose...but this was truly one of the best reads i have had in a while

You and Richard are so lucky to have your love and devotion. Every word written here is a diamond and I wish we could all possess that kind of love. Bless you both.

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeyou're back!!!! GentleDove with a heart of love.......and rightly so.........I just think this poem shined just like a brilliant diamond, I loved the "pressures: of the earth!" We all feel them, and with them much woe!
This was splendid......welcome back
