MY DADDY

Contributed by chantal on Monday, 4th November 2002 @ 01:00:00 PM in AEST
Topic: Grief

A LITTLE GIRL OF NINE! LOOKS UP TO THE HEAVENS,
SITTING ON THE PORCH OF GRANDMAS HOUSE.
THE CLOUDS ARE MOVING EVER SO FAST,
BUT THE DOORWAY TO GOD IS OPEN AS SHE TAKES A GLANCE.
SHE SITS AND PRAYS TO GOD IN ASKING WHY?
SHE NEVER GOT TO KISS HIM OR SAY GOODBYE.
SHE SAYS TO GOD "I WANT MY DADDY, PLEASE LET HIM GO"
THEN SHE SAYS "HOW FAR IS THE HEAVENS, I WANT MY DADDY TO HUG ME TIGHT AND MAKE THIS ALRIGHT."
"MY DADDY WILL NEVER SEE ME INTO NEXT GRADE,
WHAT IF MY MEMORIES OF HIM WILL FADE.
WHY DID YOU TAKE HIM GOD HE HAD A HOME,
NOW THE GATES ARE OPEN FOR HIM TO ROME.
GOD THIS IS NOT FAIR FOR A CHILD."
AS SHE SITS ON THE PORCH SOBBING IN GRIEF,
SHE PROMISES TO ALWAYS LAY A WREATH.
SHE SITS AND REMEMBERS HER DADDY HUGGING HER BEFORE BED,
SHE CANT SPEAK FOR THE WORDS ARE IN SHREADS.
SHE LOOKS UP IN THE SKIES ONCE MORE,
TELLS GOD THANK YOU FOR HER LITTLE HEART IS TORE.
SHE TALKS TO GOD AGAIN TO SAY THESE WORDS FOR HER DADDY,
"GOD PLEASE TELL MY DADDY THAT I LOVE HIM SO,
I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM THOUGH,
TELL MY DADDY TO BE CAREFUL UP THERE,
I WILL BE BRAVE AND TRY NOT TO FEAR.
WILL YOU WATCH ME AS I GROW,
WILL YOU COME IN A GLOW.
DOES GOD KNOW A LIITLE GIRL NEEDS HER DADDY,
TO HOLD HER HIGH OFF THE GROUND,
TO TELL HER EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT.
GIVING HER LOVE WHEN ALL ELSE FALLS APART,"
THEN THE HOLE IN THE SKIES OPEN FURTHER,
A IMAGINE COMES FORTH A MERGES.
SHE IS SOBBING STILL, AND SHE HEARS.
"I WILL ALWAYS BE HERE FOR YOU,
NOT MATTER WHAT YOU DO.
I AM YOUR FATHER AND I WILL STILL LOVE YOU.
THE HEAVENS ARE BEAUTIFUL AND DONT BE AFRAID,
WE ARE ALL GODS CREATION IN WHICH HE MADE.
LOOK IN YOUR HEART FOR I HAVE NOT LEFT YOU WISH ON A STAR EVEN THE MOON,
MY DEAR SWEET BABY GIRL WE WILL MEET AGAIN SOON."
