Pieces Of The Jigsaw

Contributed by pixie on Monday, 30th August 2004 @ 02:32:11 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I am trying to put together my jigsaw,
Finding pieces scattered all over the floor,
The pieces resemble parts if my life,
Broken apart from all the trauma & strife.

There are so many pieces missing,
For answers I am forever fishing,
My past is like a patchwork quilt,
Filled with anger & filled with guilt.

I shoved my past away to a distant land,
Never wanting it to be close at hand,
But it has found its way back,
Now it prepares to launch an attack.

Theres so many questions in my head,
Answers lie in the grave with the dead,
Along with my unloving Mother,
In her love her children didnt smother.

My past life has no clear map,
I dont have anything apart from a few scraps,
I have lots of questions that end with why?
But people stay silent after they die.

Pixie, once you learn to put it all behind you and only live from today forward it will all come together.

Hugs,
Rita

Pixie, grab some moss and throw it down before that backward rolling stone. Granted it is important to know who you are and where you came from, but if you spend all your time looking back ... you won't be able to choose what lies ahead. The past has been plotted, navigated, and manuvered through, plan and map ahead. I know it is not that easy, but nothing worth doing usually is.

Hang in there dear, we're all here for you.

Nazmythian ~

i believe you hit on something in this poem, all of us writers have a patchwork quilt past, else how could we write? i would rather have my past then one all rosey, i would be dull and mundane otherwise:) hugs n' love nessa
