Humid curls sweep the back of my neck
Filigree earrings dangle like silver sweat
Music floats low in the air, a note hovers
Above my head just out of reach
The little tree bends its branches
For eager company to pass by
Pay no heed, tormenting the little tree
I lie beneath its meager shade
Staring up at clear blue sky
Thinking someday it will be
Three stories high
Shelter me from midday sun
And delight my eye with golden leaves
So I kiss the branches one by one
Grow strong and tall I whisper to the leaves
The music swirls enchantment
I close my eyes and drift away
As I lie beneath the little tree
The slightest breeze fanning me

| its great when you can appreciate things like nature... i know i do. this in a way got to me because mankind is corrupt in many ways and does not take the time out to see the simple things in life. i am glad you do. very nice write. |
