Love's Torment

Contributed by emphaticplacebo on Tuesday, 31st August 2004 @ 08:45:50 AM in AEST
Topic: Suicide

By the time you read this I will be but a shadow
You neednt concern yourself with me anymore
You may rush to locate me, only to find me dead
At peace with the stark tile of the bathroom floor

My razor blade, once silver now awash with red
Amongst the bloodied mess of the cold white tile
Staining my lifeless cheek, a single tear remains
Revealing the truth of the sadness behind my smile

What use are chapters in a life when the book is empty?
It was your love that once filled my head with rhyme
Now, left behind is what will be my final parting words
The legacy of loves torment that outlines my lifetime

Whats the point of living when all I lived for is gone?
You just packed up and left, taking my life with you
Leaving only contradictions of your definition of love
And shattered remains of a devotion that once was true

You write with such passion. If only the person you write about could see this...
"Staining my lifeless cheek, a single tear remains
Revealing the truth of the sadness behind my smile"
^Too many people try to hide their pain behind a mask of 'happiness'. I'm not one to talk though. = I really hope you make it through all of this.
