Riding Cookie

Topic: PetPoems

Sweet brown pools of love
Dirt clinging desperately
After the strange whirlwind of air.
Whiskers tickling my face
Heartbeat rhythmically pumping
In harmony with the silence.
Outside
Windblown clouds gather
Playing together in the warm blue sky.
Walking slowly around
In large circles
Being jolted by a quicker trot.
Bubbling laughter
Peace at heart
Genuine joy in everything around me.
Sun hiding from the moon
Behind soft clouds
Of feathery cotton candy.
Slowly sinking
Through the pool of vast sky
A centimeter more each time around.
The moon rises
To watch the stars performing
A never-ending chorus of harmonious poetry.
Heartbeat rhythmically pumping
In harmony with the silence
As I lean against him.
Nights pure white horse
Shrouded in mist
Behind an endless stretch of the riders cloak.
Last kiss
Last look
At the sweet brown pools of love.
A treat and a word
And we are started
On the mundane car ride home.

Great poem. I know exactly how you feel I used to have a horse named Star, I loved her very much.
