There is a man on the front line, He's wounded and running out of time, He hold a picture of his wife, In his mind he replays his life,
As the enemy draws near, he begains to cry, Knowing this is the last time he'll look into his wife's eyes, He asks himself was this the right thing to do, He tries to stand but falls holding his wound,
He yells to the others fall back, He knows his time has come and that's a fact, He doesn't want the others to end up like him, He asks the Lord to forgive him of his sins,
As the enemy pulls into veiw, He yells America this is for you, It takes everything he has to stand, He maybe dieing, but he'll die protecting this land,
He is one of the many that gave his life, Behind he leaves a family and wife, With wings on his shoulders, He will forever be knowen as an American soldier.

My fathers a soldier. I comend you for the poem, for writing about them, not the glory of war, but the truth. It's an awesome poem.
