Bathed in shadows by trees of old Sings a solemn maiden of value untold Fiery song to melt winters kiss Now sings the lady veiled by mist
Fingers unfolding let moons light escape Silver beams illumine resting childs shape Still softly singing, cloaked in nights sky The maiden takes care till morning is nigh
One closing hand, one blooms with light New song of courage, as day consume night Heard by all but the child she must keep She stirs water to fall and willows to weep
Willingly completing an endless chore Calmly she sings, returning to shore Never honored, rewarded, nor praised for her gifts Silently she sings, returning to mist.
