So Cold id the Fire.

SO COLD IS THE FIRE(Peter Sprenkeler)

My sadness is exasperatingleaves me spent,
In the mists of uncertaintymy emotions grope.
The storms of discontent rage in my mind,
Answers elusiveforlorn is any hope.

The fire once ragedin the most heated passion,
Cold blackened ashthere in its place now lies.
A cold brutal emptinessnow floods the heart,
The pain horrendousas a relationship dies.

The soul is numbedthe once vibrant pulse now still,
The former buoyant spiritnow hangs as lead.
An inner voice softly criesit just cannot end,
Yet reason shouts loudlyand mercilessly proclaims it dead.

And so the war ragesa nightmare of the mind,
Even the physical health begins to wane.
This love once blossomed in the emotional sunshine,
Now it cowers shrivelledin the shadows of endless pain.

Yet in timethe heart will beat once again,
The resolve will strengthenand learn to live with death.
Pain will in time easebut I will never forget,
This woman for a timecompletely stole my breath.

I enjoyed your poem immensely... i am hoping after your time of healing that you find a woman with enough magic in her heart to heal the wounds of a broken heart

Very descriptive of a relationship ending. Nice rhythm. I liked this immensely. I do hope this is of memories past. Peace to you.
